Mission Statement

The Wilson Downtown Development Corporation is an organization that encourages and coordinates activities that enhance economic and community growth in Downtown Wilson by providing outstanding leadership through the integration of people, government, and community resources which supports a professional, residential, cultural, and commercial historic district.

Vision Statement

The Wilson Downtown Development Corporation sees Downtown Wilson as a safe, vibrant and aesthetically pleasing historic commercial and cultural district for people to live, work, visit and play.

 

  
         
 

 

Big Three Initiatives for WDDC to focus on in 2006-2007:

                                 1. Continue to work on the development of a Downtown Master Plan
                                 2. Work in partnership with Preservation of Wilson, a Historic Neighborhood Improvement
                                     non-profit organization.
                                 3. Continue the initatives from 2006 - Completing the Wayfinding project, continuing business
                                     recruitment, and implementing building improvement projects.

                                 1. Continue Streetscape through Wayfinding Program
                                 2. Business Recruitment
                                 3. Improve Building Conditions
                                 4. Community Meetings to Develop Downtown Masterplan & Updated Zoning
                                 5. Expand Public Art
